However, be aware that they are less sturdy and can bend under the weight of heavier cakes. They are perfect for simple baking or in some cases as a support for stacked cakes. 2. Cake drums: robust and reliable

Cakedrums are sturdy boards with a thickness of approximately 13 mm. They provide excellent support for medium to heavy cakes and are ideal for wedding cakes or cakes with multiple layers. A disadvantage is that they take up more storage space due to their thickness, which is why we do not offer them at Cupcakedozen.nl.

3. MDF cakeboards: slim and strong

MDF (Medium-Density Fibreboard) wooden cakeboards combine strength with a slim design. They are as strong as cake drums, but their thinner profile saves storage space. They are available in a variety of finishes:

• Glossy MDF boards: These boards are laminated with a glossy layer, which provides a luxurious look. We have several of these boards in stock, also in combination deals with matching cake boxes.

4. Cake boards with central hole: for perfect stacked cakes

For stacked cakes, stability is key. Cakeboards with a central hole allow a central dowel to be placed through the cake, providing additional support. Combined with our cake frame system, you create a solid and secure construction, ideal for tall or complex cakes.

5. 9mm wooden cake boards: the powerhouses

For extra heavy cakes, such as large wedding cakes, 9mm thick wooden cake boards are the best choice. These boards offer maximum strength and do not bend, giving your cake a solid base. They are a little heavier (and certainly more expensive), but the security they offer is priceless.
