About Moreish Cakes and Monica Cavallaro
Monica Cavallaro is a pastry chef, cake designer, international teacher, creator of the More Range, demonstrator, and brand ambassador for The World of Cake. This talented baking queen, based in Sydney, is known for her bold personality and incredible creativity.
Monica is known not only for her extensive knowledge of baking and cake decorating, but also for her witty insinuations and engaging attitude during workshops and demonstrations, both nationally and internationally.
The concept for Moreish Cakes was born in 2009 when Monica, the founder and artist, began making celebration cakes for her family. Over the years, word spread, and requests for cakes and pastries poured in from friends and loved ones. It wasn't until people offered to pay for her creations that Monica realized something special was happening.
In 2013, after battling a long illness, Monica put her extra energy into baking and perfecting her recipes, with the aim of officially launching and growing Moreish Cakes.
In 2015, a chance moment occurred in the middle of the night when Monica decided to compete in The Great Australian Bake Off . She became a finalist in 2016, a turning point in her journey.
From there, things moved quickly. Monica became the go-to person for wedding cakes on the highly successful show Married At First Sight from 2016 to 2021. She created weekly themed cakes for the dessert trolleys on the popular show Zumbo's Just Desserts , which aired on Channel 7 and is now available on Netflix.
Amidst all this, Monica continued to create breathtaking wedding cakes, developed her own line of specialty products in the More range, judged baking and cake competitions around the world, presented and demonstrated at major events, made cakes for celebrities, appeared in magazines around the world with her cakes, tutorials and interviews, created recipes, became a two-time ambassador and embarked on regular teaching trips.
Despite all her accomplishments, Monica humbly claims that her biggest claim to fame is being the mother of two wonderful children and the wife of a supportive and understanding husband.
